i might be able to clarify what it came in. instead of the cast 1 piece rear main seal crank.Ĩ-350 (5.7L) 4BC (VIN M, OPT LT9) Chev Tr. and some with automatic came equipped with a FORGED STEEL one piece rear main seal crank. those series of trucks with manual tranmissions. you should be able to see that fairly easily up from the bottom. just sticking straight thru the rear main seal adapter plate. ![]() large journal blocks in 86 should be a 1 piece seal block. small journal cranks have a ROUND flange. UPB these will be 4 bolt main 350 main size journal blocks. So post casting number and the julian date. If that is an different casting number it might be an ACTUAL 350 from 1986. those usually don't last more than 10 years of production. 0404 indicates April 4th as the build date. For example, the engine code stamping number on a Chevy 327 engine might read V0404HC: V stands for the Flint, Michigan plant. the 5 would be the last year of the decade. This code contains important information about the engine, such as the plant where it was produced and the date of production. You are going to find a julian date like D115 or D125ĭ would be April for the 4th month. Look also for a 4 digit code back there also. What is the casting number off the back of the block above the transmission mounting flange. My hollander interchange lists that PB 8-283 4BC Chevy II 65
